Comparative analysis of E- defense shaking table test and nonlinear time history simulation for high-rise frame structure
【Abstract】 The response of high-rise structure under long period ground motion( LPGM) gets more and more attention after‘311 earthquake’in Japan. To investigate the dynamic response and failure characteristics of frame structure,a 1 /4 scale model of a 20 layers RC frame subjected to LPGM was tested on E-defense shaking table by Japanese scholars recently. The typical experimental results were introduced by firstly. And then the nonlinear behavior observed in the test was reproduced by using the finite element analysis( FEM) software SNAP,in which the behavior of beam and column were modeled by plastic hinge and fiber models respectively. Based on the FEM model,the two particular characteristics( long duration and vast displacement response) of high-rise frame structure subjected to LPGM were simulated. The two characteristics caused notable cumulative damage on beam end,which was considered by using a revised plastic hinge model in FEM simulation. The comparative analysis method was verified by the good agreements of the tested and simulated results.
