西方文学批语层次学说探幽

【摘要】 中国大陆的弗莱研究开展有年，成果颇丰，但对弗莱及其理论的研究主要集中在其神话-原型批评理论、文化批评和文化研究上。笔者认为，仅仅把弗莱视为一位神话-原型批评理论和文化研究的代表人物还远远不能概括弗莱的学术地位和影响。本文意在从历时角度评述西方文学批评层次学说，并将其他文学批评层次学说与弗莱的批评“五层面”学说进行比较，研究弗莱的批评层次学说的价值；同时，从共时角度全面评介弗莱的批评层次学说，从一个崭新视角解读弗莱的学术思想体系，并论证弗莱的批评层次学说的价值在于：提倡摒弃各类批评的门户之见，在文学宇宙的大背景下多层面、多方位、多维度地考察文学现象，这对当代文学批评具有启发和借鉴意义。本文亦据此力图探寻当代文学批评的新路子与新方法。 全文分为绪言、正文、结语三大部分。 绪言部分：回顾中国大陆弗莱研究的历史与现状，点明本文的理论关注点。 正文部分包括四章相关的论述。 第一章，源起：中世纪“四层”图谱与但丁。围绕中世纪“四层”图谱和但丁的“四义”说阐释，探讨弗莱批评层次学说的渊源。 第二章，罗曼·英伽登和雷·韦勒克。分别探讨英伽登对于文学作品存在形式的四层次剖析，以及新批评派韦勒克关于文学作品结构的分层理论，比较分析英伽登、韦勒克层次理论与弗莱的层次学说。 第三章，承前启后：诺思洛普·弗莱的批评“五层面”学说。分两小节。首先在第一节全面阐释弗莱的批评层次学说，其后在第二节论述弗莱对中世纪、对新批评的继承，而后启结构主义的先端。 第四章，结构主义文学批评各具特色的层次结构模式图。主要以其中最典型的巴尔特为代表，评述其关于叙事作品的三层次理论。 结语部分首先总结全文，接着重新肯定弗莱的批评“五层面”学说的价值，最后指出诺思洛普·弗莱批评“五层面”学说的局限。更多还原

【Abstract】 The study of Northrop Frye has gone on for several years in China, and it harvests abundantly. But the study of Frye and his theory mainly focuses on his Myth-Archetypal Criticism theory, Cultural Criticism and Cultural Studies. The writer considers that it is not enough to merely regard Frye as a representative person of Myth-Archetypal Criticism theory and Cultural Studies, because it can’t generalize Frye’s scientific status and influences adequately. This dissertation intents to discuss from two angles, one is diachronic angle and another is synchronic angle. From the diachronic angle, it comments on the level-theory of Western literary criticism, and compares Frye’s Five-level criticism theory with the other persons’ level-theory of literary criticism, and searches the merits of Frye’s Five-level criticism theory. From the synchronic angle, it introduces Frye’s Five-level criticism theory roundly, and unscrambles Frye’s scientific system from a brand-new view, and demonstrates that the merits of Frye’s Five-level criticism theory lie on: the theory advocates to spurn the narrow views of all sorts of criticism, and advocates to look into literary phenomena under the background of literary universe from many levels, from many orientations, and from many dimensionalities.
