单片LCoS时序彩色化显示的研究

【摘要】 在信息爆炸的科技高速发展时代,显示技术以直观快速和准确清晰传播信息的能力广受人们青睐。现在显示技术已经成为和人们生活息息相关的重要技术之一,是人们获取信息的重要途径和手段之一。与此同时,人们对显示技术的要求也越来越高,各种显示技术应运而生。可以说,21世纪的显示技术将是大尺寸平板显示和微型显示系统流行和发展的黄金时期。在微显示方面,硅基液晶微显示器(LCoS:Liquid Crystal on Silicon)作为一种新型微显示器件,是CMOS半导体集成电路技术和液晶显示技术相结合的产物,具有小体积、高分辨率、高解析度、高有效光利用率和低功耗等优点。因此,LCoS广泛应用于便携式投影显示系统和近目显示系统中。本论文就是基于LCoS在便携式微显示投影系统中的应用,对LCoS显示器件原理特性、彩色化技术以及投影系统的参数特性进行前期调研,以时序彩色化显示方案实现了SVGA分辨率、180Hz主频、256级灰度全彩色视频投影显示。论文采用单片式LCoS搭建了三基色显示系统,选择高饱和度和高亮度的LED作为三基色光源,相较于传统的EBU三基色系统,其投影图像亮度高,色彩丰富且更容易实现色域扩展。为使投影图像接近标准彩色显示,通过配比和白场点计算方法算出的时间配比,并实施了两种方式。LCoS本质上属于液晶显示技术,论文重点论述了液晶的非线性电光特性,伽马校正原理以及分析比较了建成的校正方案,并最终选择了数字查表法来对LCoS的非线性电光特性进行伽马校正,得到了较为理想的图像再现效果。
【Abstract】 In the information explosion era of science and technology, fast and precise display technology for clear and intuitive ability to disseminate information were widely favored by people. Now display technology is all over in people’s lives, which have become an important technology for people to obtain information. At the same time, people are more and more serious with the display technology, as a result, various display technologies have emerged. In the 21st century It is the golden age for large flat-panel displays and micro-display system and development of the golden age of pop.As a new micro-display devices,LCoS(liquid crystal on silicon) is a combination of CMOS integrated circuit technology semiconductor and liquid crystal display technology. Because of the various advantages such as small size, high resolution, high-efficient light utilization and low dissipation, LCoS micro-display systems are widely used in portable display systems and Near-Eye display systems. This paper is based on the application of LCoS display in portable microdisplay projection system, including the research work about the working principle and colorization scheme of the LCoS display device during the earlier period of the project and realizing the SVGA resolution,180Hz fresh rate.256-gray scale tricolor video projection display by the single panel LCoS display which was set up in this project.This paper is based on single-panel tricolor LCoS display system with high saturation and high brightness LED as light source. Compared with the traditional display with EBU tricolor, the projected image with the new display is more bright, more colorful and easier to achieve color gamut extension. In order to make the projected image close to the standard color display, the display time of the three primary color is analyzed by the method of white balance.and implemented in two ways. LCoS is essentially a liquid crystal display technology. This paper focused on the non-linear electro-optic properties of liquid crystal and the methods of gamma correction. Finally a practical gamma correction is developed based on normal scheme.by inserting an LUT gamma correction block in the hardware design program.
