基于元数据的生态数据管理和信息共享

【摘要】 随着生态学研究的问题趋于复杂化和综合化,研究对象的时空尺度越来越大,现代生态学的发展面临着巨大的挑战。如何生产或获取规范化的数据资源,如何存储和高效管理海量数据资源,如何实现生态数据的规范化管理和信息共享,是生态学研究者当前亟待解决的问题。当前生态科学数据管理和信息共享中存在的主要问题是:数据管理水平参差不齐,数据采集自动化与手工输入之间的矛盾,数据更新的周期较长,利用效率低,数据格式和标准不统一,共享观念淡薄,元数据的缺乏和不规范等。上述问题的存在使数据用户难以发现和获取所需的数据,严重制约着科学研究和学术交流活动的开展。本文以数据集为单位,对国家重点野外科学观测研究站—会同杉木林生态站的历史数据进行整理,并以元数据理论及生态数据元数据国家标准为基础,结合W_eb数据库技术和Java编程语言,开发出基于元数据的生态数据管理系统和信息共享平台,并取得了以下主要结论:1.元数据是关于数据的数据,对于促进数据的管理、共享和使用起着重要的作用。适当的元数据能够帮助生态数据生产者及生态数据用户快速发现所需数据,了解其内容和限制,评估其可用性,从而获取和使用这些数据。元数据是规范生态科学数据管理和实现信息共享的关键。2.基于现行的生态元数据国家标准《生态科学数据元数据》,按照“元数据子集—元数据实体—元数据元素”的三层模式,确定了关系类型数据集元数据的UML模型,共包括7个模块:分别是标识信息模块、场地信息模块、方法信息模块、数据质量信息模块、项目信息模块、分发信息模块和实体信息模块。3.生态科学数据管理是一项基础性工作。基于元数据的生态数据管理系统不仅可以有效地解决Eco-DBMS运行中存在的问题,而且能够实现在网络环境下远程填报数据和元数据,从整体上提高了数据的管理水平,实现数据管理的科学化和规范化。4.在基于元数据的生态数据管理系统的基础上开发出信息共享平台,并将数据集的元数据发布在信息共享平台中,不仅实现了元数据和其他信息的共享,还实现了跨平台访问和元数据的分类检索和浏览。5.在技术层面上实现了数据共享,建立了生态科学数据共享平台。本文在数据管理和信息共享的基础上,将元数据库和数据库进行链接,在信息共享平台中初步实现了数据实体申请和下载。
【Abstract】 As issues of ecological study tend to complicated and comprehensive, temporal and spatial scale of disquisitive object becoming larger and larger, the development of modern ecology is facing enormous challenges. Therefore, how to produce and obtain standardized data resources, how to store and manage massive data resources efficiently, and how to achieve the goal of ecological data management standardization and information sharing are current problems that must be solved urgently by ecological researchers.Main problems exist in current ecological scientific data management and information sharing was:data management level varies greatly, contradiction between automatic data collection and manual data entry, data update cycle is long and use of low efficiency, data formats and standards reunification, have a weak concept of sharing, the lack of metadata and not standardized, and so on. The existence of these issues caused users found it difficult to obtain data and seriously restrict scientific research and academic exchange activities.Based on data sets for the units, the field of scientific observations of key national research stations-in Chinese fir forest ecology at the historical data to organize, and metadata of ecological data and metadata based on national standards, the combination of Web database technology and Java programming language, developed based on metadata ecological data management system and information-sharing platform, and has achieved the following major conclusions:1. Metadata is data about data. It plays an important role in promoting data management and sharing. Appropriate metadata can help the ecological data producers and ecological data users to find data quickly that they needed to understand its content and restrictions, to assess their availability and thus access to and use of such data. Metadata is the key point for standardizing data management and achieving information sharing.2. Based on current national ecological metadata standards "metadata for ecological data", according to the "metadata subset—metadata entities—metadata elements" of the three-tier model to determine metadata UML model for relational datasets, including a total of seven modules: namely identification information module, site information module, method information module, quality information module, project information module, distribution information module and entity information module. 3. Ecological scientific data management is a fundamental work. Metadata based ecological scientific data management can not only solve the problems exist in Eco-DBMS, but will also achieve the goal of remote data and metadata reporting in the network environment.4. Information sharing platform was developed on the basis of metadata based ecological data management, then metadata of datasets was published. Not only the goal of metadata and other information sharing was achieved, but also achieved a cross-platform access and the classification of metadata retrieval and browsing.5. The goal of data sharing was achieved at the technical level, and ecological scientific data sharing platform was also established. In this paper, database and meta-database were linked up on the basis of ecological data management and information sharing, the goal of data application and download was initially achieved in the information sharing platform.
