【Abstract】 By reviewing the traditional theory of the seismic design, I draw a conclusion in this paper that the performance - based seismic design should be based on the theory of satisfying different performance targets at different hazard levels, not on the purpose of ensuring people’s life safety as suggested by the traditional theory. Meanwhile, four key problems in the performance - based seismic design are discussed. Two simple examples are given in the end to prove the advancement of this design.更多还原
