【摘要】 随着经济的飞速发展,我国的国际地位日益提高,国外人士希望了解中国政府的方针政策。政府工作报告涵盖了我国社会、经济、文化发展现状及未来发展的规划,从而成为国外了解中国国情的有效途径。因此政府报告的翻译也变得愈加重要。本论文将研究功能论在政治文献翻译中的应用,2009年的“政府工作报告”将作为我们的研究对象。功能论作为理论支撑也会在论文中得到充分的阐释。论文首先将探讨功能论的核心理论与思想,以期对政治文献翻译实践提供指导。作为权威的文献,“政府工作报告”必然具有其他文献所不具有的文体特点,因此对文体特点分析也将成为论文重要的组成部分。此外,为了对报告有更充分的理解,本论文将运用文本类型学及目的论对报告的文本类型与功能做详尽的分析。在充分讨论“政府工作报告”语言特点的基础上,论文将在功能论的理论框架下分析其英译本,这些分析涵盖了词句及篇章。论文力求从整体上对“政府工作报告”的翻译策略有所掌控,从而了解“政府工作报告”如何能实现其对内向广大人民群众汇报工作,对外宣传我国路线方针政策的作用。如何做到加强国际合作,增进国际了解。本篇论文的主要内容包括以下几个部分:对功能论的阐述分析;对政治文献的概括介绍与分析;政府工作报告的目的与文体分析;具体翻译策略的应用分析。重点在于阐述功能论在具体翻译策略选取方面的指导作用。本研究是从新的视角研究政治文献翻译,通过对“政府工作报告”的英译本进行具体的实例研究,可以帮助译者更好地理解、掌握功能论对翻译实践的指导作用并在政治文献的翻译过程中有效地应用。更多还原

【Abstract】 With the rapid development in economy, China has played an increasingly important role in the world. In view of this, the westerners want to acquaint with principles and policies of our government. The report on the work of government includes a variety of information on the social, economic and cultural development status and their future planning, which provides the channel to the westerners in learning the conditions of our country. Accordingly, the rendition of the Government Work Report is becoming more and more important. This thesis will study the application of the functionalism in the political documents translation. And the 2009 Government Work Report will serve as the subject of the study. As the theoretical foundation, the functionalism will get the thorough explanation in the thesis. First of all, the main principles of the functionalism will be discussed, which will provide guidance for translating political documents. As an authoritative document, the Government Work Report will definitely take on some special characteristics, and the illustration concerning its stylistic features will comprise the essential part of the thesis. Moreover the thesis will apply the text typology and Skopostheorie in the elaborate analysis of the text type and function, which contributes to the comprehending of the report. On the basis of understanding the features of the report, the translation of the report will be discussed. Under the framework of functionalism, the thesis will analyze the English version of the report at the word and sentence levels. Generally speaking, this thesis will endeavor to search for the appropriate strategies to guide the whole translation process. In this way, we may grasp the suitable way that the report has taken to give an account of work to the domestic readers and meanwhile apprehend how its rendition performs the function of propagandizing the principles and policies to the westerners. And then one may understand that on the basis of the proper translation, the international cooperation and mutual understanding could be further promoted.The thesis is mainly composed of the following parts: the expounding on the functionalism, the text type analysis, functional and stylistic analysis of the report, and the application of specific translation strategies. The emphasis will be placed on the application of the functionalism in the choice of translation strategies. The study explores the political translation from a new perspective. And after the detailed analysis of the English version of the Government Work Report, the guiding role of the functionalism could be better comprehended by the translators.
