柔性显示材料在力学和温湿环境中的失效研究

【摘要】 显示技术的发展使得传统显示器面临各种挑战,而对于各种个性应用的需求使柔性显示材料日渐成为不可避免的趋势。本文的研究内容是对于目前集成了先进制造技术的两种新型柔性显示材料:柔性PNLCD和柔性STN-LCD进行基于力学和温湿环境下的失效研究。通过模拟实际的使用环境来找到产品在实际使用中可能发生的问题和缺陷,并对这两种新型柔性显示材料在环境试验和力学试验中发生的失效模式进行深入的分析和研究,了解其在温湿和力学环境下的贮存和使用的适应性。并通过失效分析,对新型柔性显示材料的研制和改进提供试验方面的数据储备。本文首先详细介绍了作为柔性显示材料基础的液晶显示原理。并介绍了PNLCD和STN-LCD的显示特点、性能和电光特性。然后运用失效分析的思路和方法,特别针对这两种柔性液晶材料在性能和显示上的需要改进之处设定了科学经济有效的试验方法。本文的研究重点在于对柔性PNLCD和柔性STN-LCD进行力学和温湿环境试验以及失效分析。对于柔性PNLCD,进行了低温试验和交变湿热试验,在试验后根据PNLCD的失效情况进行了深入透彻的分析,并测试了试样的电光性能参数。然后还进行了拉伸和弯曲试验,获得了试样的材料参数,为以后的研究工作采集了基础且详实的资料;对于柔性STN-LCD,进行了高温试验、恒定湿热试验、低温试验和交变湿热试验,分析了其失效模式,利用有限元软件进行了仿真热分析,并与试验结果相印证,对有限元分析进行了有益的探索。本文的试验方法依据权威标准制定,确保了试验结果和数据的科学性和有效性,整个研究分析工作深入透彻,查明了这两种柔性显示材料在力学和环境试验下的失效模式和性能特点。本文的研究成果必将为这两种柔性液晶材料的可靠性和性能提升提供有力的帮助。

【Abstract】 The traditional displays now are facing many challenges with the development of display technology. It is an inevitable trend for flexible displays which can fit the different personalized applications. This paper focused on the failure analysis of flexible PNLCD (Polymer Network Liquid Crystal Display) and flexible STN-LCD (Super Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystal Display) based on the mechanic and environmental tests. A solid foundation can be established by research the failure mode during the tests.At first this paper introduced the principle of liquid crystal display, and showed the characteristics, performance and electro-optical properties of PNLCD and STN-LCD. Then this paper carried out the ideas and methods of failure analysis to plan scientific and effective test methods of the PNLCD and STN-LCD based on the practical needs. This study concentrated on the mechanic and environmental tests and failure analysis of flexible PNLCD and STN-LCD. For flexible PNLCD: cold test and cyclic damp heat test were adopted to find the failure mode and get the electro-optical parameters. Tension test and bending test were carried out to obtain the material parameters like elastic modulus. For flexible STN-LCD, there were four tests include dry heat test , steady state damp heat test, cold test and cyclic damp heat test to acquire parameters. Thermal analysis was performed to verify the tests.All test methods were made according interrelated criteria which guaranteed the effective of testing data and testing phenomenon. We totally understand the influence of environment test to flexible PNLCD and STN-LCD. The research will play an important role in improving performance to flexible PNLCD and STN-LCD.
