汽车牌照图像检测与识别研究

【摘要】 国内近几年城市智能交通系统发展的很快,车牌识别系统作为城市智能交通系统中信息采集的一种手段,也得到了飞跃的发展。本文主要研究了汽车牌照自动识别系统,按照系统功能可分为图像采集模块、车牌定位模块、字符分割模块和字符识别模块四个部分。首先由图像采集模块对视频灰度图像进行A/D变换,获取数字化的灰度图像;其次由车牌定位模块确定车牌的位置;由车牌分割模块对车牌的图像进行分割,分离出单个字符图像后进行字符的分类识别,最终输出识别的结果。实验结果表明,采用本文提出的车牌检测与识别的方法识别车牌比较准确,该方法具有很好的实际工程应用价值。

【Abstract】 ITS (intelligent transportation systems) is progressing rapidly in recent years in China. At the same time, as the information collection method for ITS, the vehicle plate recognition technology has also developed very fast. License Plate Recognition System is researched in the paper, According to the system function, the whole system can be divided into four parts, namely the image capture module、the license plate detection module、the character segmentation module and the character recognition module. Firstly, The gray video image will be done A/D transform through the image capture module, then digital gray image can be gained; then the license plate position will be determined through the license plate detection module; the license plate image can be segmented several characters through the character segmentation module, the single character image will be recognized respectively, finally the recognition result of the license plate will be obtained. The experimental results show that the method has many practical application values.
