近代法国在华教会教育(1840-1919)

【摘要】 从天主教传入中国起,法国传教士和教会就对中国社会产生了深远的影响。法国教会教育不仅在中国传播了科学知识,引进了一整套教育体系,为中国早期教育现代化奠定了基础,而且在中法文化交流中发挥了重要作用。法国教会教育重视初等教育,设立了徐汇公学,创办了震旦大学,成为外国在华天主教教会教育的主要力量。1840年到1919年是法国在华天主教教会教育的大发展时期。这一时期又可以划分为三个阶段:一、近代法国在华教会教育的兴起(1840年——1860年);二、近代法国在华教会教育的初步发展(1861年——1900年);三、近代法国在华教会教育的继续发展(1901年——1919年)。在三个发展时期,本文都是从时代背景出发,先介绍法国在华教会教育发展的一般概况,然后分析原因,最后总结出特点。在分析原因部分,主要从法国政府的态度、中国政府的态度和中国民众的态度三个层次来研究法国在华教会教育不断发展的原因。在特点部分,主要是从学校分布、办学层次、经费来源、学生来源、宗教教育等方面进行总结。此外,还对法国天主教在西南地区与沿海地区的教会教育、法国教会教育与中国传统教育和法国天主教教会教育与新教教会教育进行了比较,通过比较研究对法国在华教会教育有了更深入客观的认识。在文章的最后一部分,对近代法国在华教会教育进行了评价。虽然法国教会教育与法国列强在华扩张有一定联系,还具有宗教的局限性,但不能否认近代法国教会教育对中国早期教育现代化方面所起的促进作用,无论是教育思想、教育制度还是教育内容,近代法国教会教育都产生了意义深远的影响。近代法国教会教育还在中西文化交流中发挥了重要作用,不管是向中国介绍西方还是向西方介绍中国,教会教育都扮演了中间人的角色。

【Abstract】 From the Catholicism come into China the French churchman and church have far-reaching influence in Chinese society. French parochial education not only transmits knowledge, establishes a whole edcation system,provid a base of Chinese early eduction mordernization,but also play a important role in culture communication between China and France. French parochial education make a point of elementary education,establishes xuhui high school,originates zhengdan university,it take a leading part in all foreign papistically parochial education. From 1840 to 1919,it is a prosperity term of French parochial education in China. This term can divide to three phase: 1、. The rising phase ofFrench parochial education in modern China(1840------1860); 2, Theelementary development of French parochial education in modern China(1861------1900); 3、 The continued development of French parochial education inmodern China(1901------1919). In the three development phases, this thesisbases on the backgroud of that epoch,at frist introduces the general development situation of French parochial education in China,and then analyses reasons, finally summarizes the characteristics. In the part of analyse reason,there are three levels to explain the reason of continued development of French parochial education in China:the attitude of French government the attitude of Chinese government and the attitude of Chinese people. In the part of characteristic, it mostly summarizes from the distributing of schools,the level of schools,the source of expenses,the source of students,the religion education and etc. Besides,the thesis makes some compare study: French parochial education in southwest compare in littoral 、 French parochial education compare Chinese traditional education, French parochial education of Catholicism compare church education of Protestantism,through those compare studies we can have a undstanding more deeply and external. At the last part of thesis, we have a opinion of French parochial education in modern China. Although French parochial education have some realtions with the aggression of French invader,and have religionary limitation,but we can not
