小学英语教师专业素质研究

【摘要】 小学英语教师专业素质是教师素质中的组成部分,它的界定和内涵目前尚无统一、固定的认识。小学英语教师专业素养的具备程度直接影响到培养21世纪人才的素质。本文正是在现有关于教师素质问题研究的基础上,结合英语学科的专业性和小学教学的特殊性,试图对小学英语教师基本素质及专业素质作一探讨,并就如何解决芜湖市小学英语教师在专业素质方面存在的问题提出建设性的建议。本论文重点讨论新时期小学英语教师应该具备哪些专业素质,并通过对芜湖市小学英语教师专业素质的现状调查,分析并提出开放师范教育体系,改革教师培养教育模式、开展以教师自我发展为核心的小学英语教师的继续教育、实行小学英语教师资格证书等建议,以提高小学英语教师专业素质,促进英语教师的专业化水平发展。全文分四章,内容概述如下:第一章介绍了小学英语教师专业素质研究的背景。首先我们结合国内外研究的现状,对本篇论文的基础概念“素质”、“教师素质”、“英语教师素质”及“小学英语教师专业素质”的基本涵义加以界定。其次,我们从新时代对外语人才的需求及英语教育的价值、教师的专业化发展需要学科教师专业素养的提高、小学英语课程的全面开设需要高素质的英语教师队伍三个角度阐述了新世纪提高小学英语教师专业素质的重要性和必要性。第二章是全文的重点部分,探讨了小学英语教师应必备的专业素质。首先,我们简要地概述了小学英语教师在思想道德、身心、文化知识、能力等方面应该具有的基本素质。继而我们通过分析小学英语课程标准的特点、小学阶段英语学科的特殊性和小学英语教学对象的身心特点阐述了小学英语教师在英语专业知识、相关理论、教学能力和教研能力几方面小学英语教师应具备的专业素质。第三章在第二章专业素质研究的基础上,通过对芜湖市小学英语教师专业素质现状问卷调查结果的分析,提出该市小学英语教师在英语专业知识、相关理论、教学以及教研能力方面的素养都有待进一步提高。第四章提出了如何提高芜湖市小学英语教师专业素质的几点建议:丰富师资来源、改革专业课程设置;开展在职英语教师继续教育;实行小学英语教师资格证书和岗位培训合格证书制度。

【Abstract】 The professional qualities of English Teachers in primary schools are part of English Teachers’qualities, which has no unified definition and recognition yet. English Teachers’qualities in primary school will directly influence the qualities of the citizens in 21th century. This thesis mainly discusses what professional qualities of English Teachers in primary school should be in new times through analyzing the characteristics of English teaching in basic Education and special demands from the reform on English curriculum for the English Teaching in Primary School. Based on the qualifications, by investigating the present qualities of some primary English teachers in Wuhu city, Anhui Province from the aspects of English language, relevant English teaching theories, abilities in classroom teaching and teaching reseach, we can see their general state of quality is unsatisfactory. Therefore, we should further raise the levels of the primary English teachers by means of reforming Teacher Preparation and Teacher Training systems, especially in terms of enlarging the sources of English Teachers in primary schools and innovating the professional curriculums in Normal schools.This thesis tries to achieve two goals: One is to discuss what professional qualities the English Teachers in primary school should have in new times so as to meet the demands of English teaching in primary schools made by the State Education Committee. The other is to give the constructive suggestions to improve the professional qualities of English teachers in Wuhu Primary Schools so as to promote the development of teacher education and teachers’ professional development. This thesis consists of four chapters:Chapter One is about the concept differentiation and analysis. It analyzes the concepts such as quality, teacher’s quality, English Teacher’s quality as well as professional quality of English teachers in primary school and the background and the significance in the research on the professional qualities of English teachers in primary school.Chapter two focuses on the analysis of the required qualities for the English teachers in the primary school. It concretely analyzes the base and the contents of the necessary factors of qualities for the English teachers in the primary school on the basis of the special demands from the reform on English curriculum for the English Teaching in primary school, the special features of English teaching in basic Education and children’physical and mental characteristics.Chapter three focuses on the investigation and evaluation on the present situation of professional qualities for English teachers in primary schools in Wuhu city, Anhui Province.Chapter four provides the conclusion and suggestions on how to improve teachers’s qualities.
