【摘要】 本文是一篇翻译项目报告，翻译原文选用的是美国当代著名短篇小说家KevinBrockmeier的代表作The Ceiling,于2001年获得欧亨利小说金奖。通过描述主人公由于内在心境的改变，而影射到天空中某种东西的出现。最后发现其妻子的背叛，空中如房顶一般的东西开始下降坍塌，对于“我”而言，隐喻的是一种自我世界的崩溃。本翻译报告的主要内容分为四个部分，第一、翻译项目背景介绍，包括项目的意义、来源以及报告结构等。第二、原作背景介绍，包括作者简介，理论框架介绍、原作主要内容介绍等。第三、翻译难点以及在功能对等翻译理论下，如何对这些难点进行翻译。第四、总结在翻译过程中所得到的经验教训、启发并指出仍待解决的问题。其中第三部分是本翻译报告的主要部分。更多还原

【Abstract】 This is a translation project report on The Ceiling, a masterwork by famousAmerican fiction writer Kevin Brockmeier, which was awarded the O Henry Prize in2001. The story tells of a man whose wife drifts away from him into infidelity as anobject grows larger in the sky, gradually descending, like a lowering ceiling over thecity. It is as if he is projecting his emotions outward: for him, the sky is falling. Themain contents of this translation project report are divided into four parts: Part One isintroduction of the background of the translation project, including projectsignificance, project origin and structure of the report. Part Two is introduction of theresearch background, including the brief introduction of Kevin Brockmeier, thetheoretical framework, main contents of the source text. Part Three is about thedifficulties that the author has met during the translation and how to settle them byadopting the functional equivalence theory of translation. Part Four concludes withthe lessons, enlightenments and unsolved problems in the translation project. Amongthese four parts, the key part goes to Part Three.更多还原
