基于Web的3D教育游戏的研究与设计

【摘要】 随着社会的变迁、科技的发展和学习理念的进步,游戏化学习和移动学习成为信息时代重要的学习方式。特别是Web应用和虚拟现实技术的迅速发展与有效整合为人们认识世界和掌握知识提供了新的途径。Web应用的跨平台优势和3D媒体的虚拟特性将使得在线教育、游戏化学习得到前所未有的快速发展和广泛应用。同时政府机构与专家学者的积极引导和广泛参与,使得教育游戏的研究与设计成为社会各界关注的热点。这一切为教育游戏的理论研究奠定了良好的理论基础,也为其设计开发提供了切实可行的技术支持。然而目前许多教育游戏没有很好的把握教育与游戏的平衡,只是机械地把文字、图本、二维动画和视频简单相加,对跨平台应用的支持较差,不能满足随时随地的移动学习的需要。为此,如何充分整合Web平台、虚拟现实技术和3D媒体,为学习者构建一个虚拟化和移动化的基于Web的3D教育游戏成为一个亟待解决的课题。本文综合运用文献研究法、案例研究法和软件工程等多种研究方法。首先在相关文献研究的基础上,系统地梳理教育游戏国内外研究现状和发展趋势。在此基础上对教育游戏的产生、定义、内涵进行了探究,对基于Web的3D教育游戏的概念作了科学的界定,并对基于Web的3D教育游戏的特征、外延、教育价值进行了系统的分析。同时,从学习理论、游戏理论和技术理论三方面全面研究相关的理论基础,分析了Web技术标准、3D建模技术和集成交互技术等关键技术,对设计开发基于Web的3D教育游戏的可行性进行了分析。最后,从系统目标、设计原则、设计模型和功能模块等进行了总体设计,并从教学设计和游戏设计两个维度提出了一个详细的设计方案。本研究旨在解决学习资源匮乏、媒体单一的问题,尝试提供一种跨平台的虚拟学习环境和游戏化的学习方式,从而更好地激发学习者的内在动机、优化学习过程与效果、促进学习者自主、愉悦的深度学习。最终提出了构建基于Web的3D教育游戏的技术框架和设计模型,完成了一个详细的设计方案。本课题研究的意义在于一方面丰富了教育游戏研究和设计的理论,为研究人员整合软件技术与媒体资源,探索教育与游戏的科学融合提供新的思路与方法。另一方面拓展了Web应用平台和3D技术的应用范围,为设计人员应用前沿技术设计开发教育游戏提供借鉴与参考。

【Abstract】 With the development of society, the progress of science and technology, and the improvement of learning principle, through-play learning and mobile learning have constituted the most important way of learning in the Information Age where the wide application and effective integration of Web and virtual reality technology have guided people new access to understand the world and acquire knowledge. Online education, another way of learning, has been as much appealing and popular as learning through play by taking advantage of Web cross-platform technology and 3D media. On the other hand, study and design of educational games have turned out to be a social focus: governments and institutions, together with experts and scholars have actively involved in the issue. Those mentioned, therefore, have not only theoretically contributed so much to study and design of educational games, but also technologically provided practical supports.However, most educational games now ignoring keeping balance between education and games are simply no more than a mechanical combination of words, pictures, flash and videos, which can’t make mobile learning possible because of a less pleasant application of cross-platform technology. As a consequence, it has emerged as a problem to be solved with urgency how to fully integrate Web, virtual reality technology and 3D to construct a ecological, virtual and mobile Web-Based 3D Educational Game (short for W3EG) for learners.Attempting to solve the problem, this paper, methodologically by taking advantage of literature, case-study and software engineering, first presents a systematic review concerning the educational games at home and abroad, which investigates in detail the development, definition and denotation of educational games. Accordingly, it defines the concept of W3EG and characteristics, connotation and educational value of W3EG, followed by explanation of W3EG’s theories in terms of learning principle, theory of through-play learning and theories of technologies including Web technology, 3D technology and integration technology. Then, the paper analyzes the feasibility of W3EG. Finally, by taking classroom setting and games both into consideration, it proposes a detailed project in accordance with design goals, rules, frames and function patterns. The present paper aims to offer resolution to shortage of educational multimedia resources by way of creating virtual environment and games for learning in the hope that learners can be better motivated in learning process, their learning efficiency can be optimized, and their acquisition can be more autonomous and optimistic. Furthermore, as for the significance of the paper, that is ,on the one hand, to enrich theories pertaining to study and design of educational games so as to provide a renewed way for researchers who are interested in integration of software and media;on the other hand, to popularize the application of Web and 3D technology so as to give reference to the advanced technological exploration in the field of educational game design.
