【Abstract】 Ever since the seventeenth century,the occident seismic knowledge had been spread gradually in China.In the eighteenth century,these knowledge influenced the formation of the seismic thought of Emperor Kang Xi.From the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century,this diffusion changed in its approach,connotation,subject as well as the influence,which ultimately promoted the birth of modern seismology in China.This paper thoroughly investigates the whole process of this knowledge diffusion for the first time,reveals some rarely-known facts,and discusses the signs of the rise of modern seismology in China and some other related questions.更多还原
