【Abstract】 The relationship between the development of water conservancy and Buddhism in mountainous areas of Zhejiang in modern history is studied from the perspective of environmental history based on local Chronicles,ancient poetry and other textual materials. It can be concluded that the power of Buddhist in mountainous areas of Zhejiang in modern history intervened and contributed in local water conservancy as pioneers. They lead various organizations in the field of transportation and water supply,laying the water supply foundation for the in-depth development of mountain civilization. At the same time,the motivation of water conservancy construction of Buddhism power in mountainous areas of Zhejiang in modern history is not only the requirement of doctrines,but also the practical consideration of making a living and preaching by water.The so called"preaching by water"mainly includes two sub-topic: "senior monk and water"and"spiritual temple water".更多还原
