【Abstract】 On February 11,1954, an earthquake Ms 71/4 occurred in Shandan county,Gansu province. It was the first strong earthquake in northwestern China after liberation. In the meizoseismal area, intensity is at X degree. During this event 50 people were killed,329 people were injured, the damaged area was about 4,800 sq. km and the Shandan County city was most seriously destroyed. In present paper the authors have reviewed and summarized up the study achievements of 50 years in Shandan earthquake. The seismic basic parameter, as source mechanism, earthquake sequence, earthquake intensity,seismic rupture zone,historical earthquakes, earthquake damaged and others were discussed.更多还原
