【Abstract】 This paper analyzes the main practices of the river chief system work in Zhejiang Province from seven aspects: water control objectives, senior design, work basis, responsibility system, innovation mechanism, carrier construction and assessment mechanism. It summarizes the typical practices ofthe river chief system work infour cities including Xianju CountyofTaizhouCity, Jianggan Districtof Hangzhou, Shaoxing Zhuji City and Jinhua LanxiCity in Zhejiang Province.
