【Abstract】 Based on literature analysis methods,the paper conducts comprehensive analysis on the concept of Digital Earth and summarizes applications of the Digital Earth technology in urban planning.Its application contains several aspects:extension technology of data source;quantitative analysis technology;support system of public participation;dynamic monitoring system;spatial-temporal display and analysis system of urban planning based on Cloud Computing model and Temporal GIS;education and innovation system of urban planning.The paper points out that urban planning application based on Digital Earth technology will bring broad prospects for development by virtue of the characteristics of its multi-resolution,three-dimensional dynamic visualization and mass data storage.更多还原
