高等院校创新班学生英语学习动机调查研究——以福建农林大学为例
A Survey of the English Learning Motivation of Elite Program Non-English Majors in Agriculture and Forestry Colleges
【摘要】 动机是影响语言学习的重要因素。文章以问卷调查的方法,对福建农林大学292名严家显创新班学生的英语学习动机进行调查,重点探究其英语学习动机的总体情况,不同类别、不同性别创新班学生英语学习动机的差异。研究结果显示:(1)创新班学生的学习成绩、学习情境和出国动机水平中等,而内在兴趣、社会责任、个人发展和信息媒介的动机水平较高;(2)农林生物类学生的学习情境动机和出国动机水平都显著高于经济管理类学生;(3)创新班女生信息媒介动机水平显著高于男生。研究表明,在农林院校创新班的英语教学中,为了增强学生的学习动机,既要了解学生动机的具体情况,也要考虑不同类别、性别等个体因素的影响。
【Abstract】 Motivation has an important impact on language learning. A questionnaire survey of the English learning motivation conducted on 292 Elite Program non-English majors in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University indicates that(1)Elite Program students’ motivation of immediate achievement,learning situation and going abroad is on medium level,while their motivation of intrinsic interest,social responsibility,individual development and information medium is on high level;(2)the motivation level of learning situation and going abroad of those students majoring in agriculture,forestry and biology is significantly higher than those students majoring in economy and management;(3)female students’ motivation level of information medium is significantly higher than male students. This study indicates that in Elite Program English teaching,close attention should be paid to their specific motivation and the individual factors of different majors and genders in order to enhance their English learning motivation.
