【Abstract】 The cliff painting in Yangzhai village is a complete narrative intaglio cliff painting of the ancient sacrificial scene. It is composed of Hui-shaped patterns, two Chinese characters of Niu(cattle), Chinese character of Shi(ten), and dancing figures, which is in accordance with the historical records of agricultural sacrificial activities. Through the textual research, the Hui-shaped pattern represented the square altar with three layers; the Chinese character of Niu engraved in front of the altar where the offerings were placed, represented the "sacrifice"; the Chinese character of Shi was an expression of "Jia Ri", indicating the time of sacrifice depicted in cliff paintings; and the dance scene reflected ancient people’s wish for a good harvest in the sacrifice rite.更多还原
