【Abstract】 A Tale of Two Cities is a representative work of the British realistic writer Dickens.It takes the British society and the French revolution as the main line to reflect the British social situation in the 19 th century.Featuring weird characters and great self-sacrifice love, "Weird hero",represented by Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities,has become a symbol of the weird heroism,as well as reference for all kinds of later works concerning eccentric heroes therein.Exploring the "weird hero" is the key to comprehensively analyze the humanitarianism in Dickens’ works.Through the characterization of Carton’s character and experience plus the shaping of his emotions and behaviors,we can figure out the characteristics of weird heroes and Dickensian humanitarian thoughts.Therefore,this paper analyzes humanism and humanitarianism in A Tale of Two Cities from the perspective of weird heroes.更多还原
