【Abstract】 Historical perspective has relevance to the anthropology of disaster.Virginia Garcia-Acosta,in her works,demonstrates how historical analysis untangles the many threads of ecological,economic,social structure and ideology that go into creating disaster and human and environmental vulnerabilities.Disasters are self-revelatory,and they link the past with the present.Examining long-term records,Garcia-Acosta finds that disasters,particularly droughts and consequent agricultural and food crises,have long been chronic aspects of the Mexican environment.Disaster research from a historical perspective gives a critique and reform of social reality.更多还原
