【Abstract】 The literature data were used to study how to optimize the development of cardiopulmonary metabolic capacity of military personnel. Improving and maintaining the soldier’s ability to metabolize the heart and lungs is important for overall military preparation, helping to maintain good health or successfully performing various military professional activities. A large amount of low-intensity physical activity can easily lead to skeletal nerve and muscle damage, and a large amount of high-intensity physical activity may lead to organ failure. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the development of the soldier’s cardiopulmonary metabolism, and at the same time, it is necessary to minimize the occurrence of damage rate. Currently, regular, moderate-intensity physical activity is known to provide long-term health benefits. In addition, high levels of physical activity can lead to adaptive changes in the phenotype of the heart and promote optimal performance. However, long-term high intensity, large exercise volume may be associated with adverse cardiovascular events, and health benefits are reduced. But at present, many key issues remain unresolved. Therefore, to better understand the upper limit of human cardiopulmonary metabolic capacity of active personnel is conducive to designing accurate physical activity plans, improving the training system, and improving the physical health and adaptability of military personnel.
