【Abstract】 Hypocenters of the continental marginal seismic belt along the northern South China Sea were mostly distributed in the depths of 6-13km and 17-12km within the crust, that is, the focal layers just lay upon and close to the top of the low - velocity anomaly bodies within the middle and the lower crust. Unstability of the deep structures in the crust and strike - slip - normal faulting produced by the combined effects of horizontal and vertical stresses may be one kind of important mechanism to result in earthquakes.更多还原
