【Abstract】 This paper discusses the characteristics of historical strong earthquakes in Yunnan,including earthquake distribution in belts,seismic swarm,random of moderate strong earthquakes and difference of strong earthquake patterns in regions. The authors point out that major seismic belts should be taken into account In earthquake prediction and earthquake resistance and protection; the following strong earthquake should be taken precaution against after a event with M=5-6;earthquake resistance and prediction of the cities and towns of Yunnan lain in plateau basins should be taken into account;the strong earthquake pattern in east Yunnan differed greatly from that in west Yunnan and the former was generally mainshock- aftershock, and the latter,often foreshock-double mainshock -aftershock or earthquake swarm.更多还原
