【Abstract】 This paper describes the new code for seismic design and strengthening of masonry buildings in the United States in contrast with that in our country. The new code is different from the previous strength based masonry seismic codes. Instead, it is the first consideration based on performance levels. An overview of the evaluation and retrofit methods for masonry structures is given. This paper focuses on the importance of enhancing both the masonry building’s strength and deformation capacity. It will give some suggestion to the future masonry seismic code of our nation.更多还原
