芦山Mw6.6级地震烈度调查及北美震例对比分析

【摘要】 2013年4月20日,四川雅安-芦山地区发生了Mw6.6级强震,该地震造成了严重的人员伤亡和经济损失,引起了国内外地震学者的广泛关注。美国地质调查局地球物理学家Walter D.Mooney和河北省地震局科研人员王红蕾分别在震后进入震区,在震中35 km的范围内进行了地震灾害调查和烈度评定。根据修正麦加利地震烈度表(MMI),将考察区域内地震烈度划分为IX度到VI度分布。通过国家数字强震动台网获取了震中40 km范围的地面峰值加速度(PGA)从1005~270 cm/s2,地面峰值速度(PGV)从25.6~11.8 cm/s。将此次芦山地震观测到的地震烈度与PGA和PGV建立相关性关系并与发生在美国加利福尼亚州和美国东部的震例的相关性关系做了比较,得出MMIPGA/PGV关系中,地震烈度VI度到VII度中对应的PGA数据比美国震例的数据高出2~3倍。

【Abstract】 The April 20,2013 Mw6. 6 Lushan,China earthquake is significant because it typifies an upper-crustal,reverse-faulting event that could occur beneath many highly-populated cities throughout the world. We report a field study of the Modified Mercalli Intensity( MMI) within 35 km of the epicenter where the geologic site conditions are uniform. The MMI values vary from MMI IX to VI. Within 40 km of the epicenter the recorded data show the peak ground acceleration( PGA) ranging from 1005 ~ 270 cm / s2 and peak ground velocity( PGV) ranging from 25. 6 ~11. 8 cm / s. There is a close quantitative correlation between MMI and both PGA and PGV. However,the MMIPGA / PGV correlations for the Lushan earthquake show some significant differences with the empirical relations for MMI-PGA / PGV as determined for California and eastern North American. For MMI VI to VII,significantly,the Lushan data show PGA values that are 2 ~ 3 times higher than is predicted for either California or eastern North America.
