高性能集群系统在地震波数值模拟中的应用

【摘要】 随着地震领域研究工作不断深入,为了进行大规模信息处理和求解复杂模型,研究人员对具有大规模计算能力的并行计算平台需求已十分迫切。本文详细介绍了在Linux平台下,利用开源软件OSCAR(Open Source Cluster Application Resources)搭建高性能计算集群系统的方法;测试表明,构建的系统具有运行稳定,节点增减便利,提交、管理作业简单,性能参数可监控等诸多优点。该系统不仅提供了可靠的高性能计算平台,还使得进一步开发和应用国内外同行基于最新研究成果发布的各种大型并行计算开源程序变得简单方便,如加州理工学院等机构编写的基于谱单元法的大型盆地内场地地震动数值模拟程序SPECFEM3D。

【Abstract】 With research deepgoing in the earthquake-related fields, in order to process large-scale information and to solve complex models, urgent demands for parallel platforms with great computing power are gradually proposed. A Linux-based approach for establishing high-performance computing cluster by using software like OSCAR (Open Source Cluster Application Resources) has been detailed in this paper. Many advantages of the system have been found via tests, including operation stability, facility in changing nodes, simplicity in submission or management of operations, strong monitoring of performance parameters, and etc. The system not only provides a reliable high-performance computing platform, but also simplifies the further development and application based on the latest researches on various large-scale parallel computing programs released by domestic and foreign counterparts, such as SPECFEM3D(a program, developed and updated by California Institute of Technology, is simulating seismic wave propagation in sedimentary basins by using spectral-element method).
