【Abstract】 Nowadays active fault is one of the important issues in the research areas of engineering earthquake and the seismic geology,and it is very important to preventing and forecasting earthquake.The paper introduced the basic knowledge of the active fault,including the conception and theories with active fault,summarized the main way of studying active fault and its application.According to my study and research experience,the outcomes of various experts and scholars were introduced.The author concluded that earthquakes often take place in active faults,however,not all earthquakes are generated at the bases of active faults,and big earthquakes usually are triggered at earthquake vacancies.At the end the paper summarized several empirical rules with regard to active fault and earthquake activity.更多还原
