【Abstract】 Haizishan Natural Reserve is located in Litang County and Daocheng County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Haizishan Natural Reserve is mainly protected for its ecological system of alpine cold wetland. There are Quaternary period glacial relics-Daocheng ancient ice cap and the third highest peak in Sichuan-Genie Mountain. In Haizishan Natural Reserve, there are rich and unique tourism geological resources with high value in scientific research and development. The establishment of natural reserves in China has been in the key phase of the transition from quantitative to qualitative model, and there are new challenges and opportunities. Haizishan Natural Reserve, which is located in one of the poorest areas in China, is facing conflicts between protection and poverty, protection and development. The problems of Haizishan Natural Reserve are common in various natural reserves in China. It is a typical miniature of the current situation. Therefore, making a research on the protection and development of Haizishan Natural Reserve is an important research subject of theoretical and practical significances. This thesis groups into two Parts. The First Part is the basic study of Haizishan Natural Reserve, especially Geo-tourism resources. Firstly this thesis systematically expounded the regional geological background and geographical conditions in Haizishan Natural Reserve. According to tourism geological theory and methods, this thesis proposes that scene-formation process of Geo-tourism resource can be divided into geological scene-formation phase and ecological scene-formation phase. And it analyzes scene-formation principles of Haizishan Natural Reserve from geological scene-formation and ecological scene-formation. Based on the above, this thesis concludes classes of Haizishan Natural Reserve geo-tourism resources, including 5 classes and 16subclasses. This thesis studies on geological heritage landscapes, which are the focus part of geo-tourism resource of Haizishan Natural Reserve. It includes three parts. Firstly, this thesis comprehensive and in-depth studied of the classification of geological landscape in Haizishan Natural Reserve, which is divided into 4 main classes and 18 subclasses. Secondly, it probes into typical geological heritage landscapes of the reserve the landscape of ancient ice cap. It elaborates the geological distribution and landscape feature of 30 landscapes of ancient ice caps in this region. Thirdly, a qualitative analysis and a quantitative analysis are made on Geological Heritage Landscapes of Haizishan Natural Reserve.Based on the research of part one, part two of this thesis studies both theoretically and practically the protective development of Haizishan Natural Reserve. Firstly, this thesis puts forth a new protective development mode of natural reserve, which is integrating protection, development and management .Then, the mode is implemented in Haizishan Natural Reserve. A depth study on 12 projects in the protection, development and management systems is carried out to provide countermeasures. In the end, when analyzing human impact, this thesis holds that in different developing phases, the entities play different roles in protective development. So this paper proposes a new idea of the mode called 1+X which describes the changes of entities in protective development.
