平板显示器扫描模型与理论研究

【摘要】 高清晰度大屏幕平板显示产品是我国科学研究的优先主题和国民经济发展的重点领域之一,灰度是平板显示器显示效果的一个重要评定参数,目前平板显示器图像灰度扫描采用的是基于时间的广义脉宽调制方法。随着超大屏幕、超大分辨率、超高灰度等级、显示超稳定等新一代要求的不断提高,还迫切需要对各种扫描方法进行统一分析与论证,从理论角度研究图像成像的过程与机理,从而推导出适合现有显示器件的新的扫描方法及其实现电路。为此,本文建立了扫描模型及其理论,在此基础上研究高灰度等级与高帧频的扫描方案,本文的主要工作和成果有:1.探讨一般逻辑电路建立数学模型的可能性及其方法。建立了基于集合的状态集和基于矩阵的阵列工具,使用这两种数学工具可以分析电路的当前状态与时序变化等特征,并可用于辅助电路设计。2.建立适用于各种扫描方法的扫描模型及其理论。在提出电路模型共性原则的基础上,使用状态集描述灰度、存贮与驱动等状态量及其相互关系,使用阵列工具描述图像集及其灰度成像过程,分析扫描的成像效果并提出各项性能指标,为扫描方法的优化与推导提供理论基础。3.研究扫描的运算与特征扫描。在拓展阵列运算的基础上,研究扫描函数之间的相互关系,提出扫描的各种运算,建立扫描扩展关系图,指出任何一个扫描可以分解为一个特征扫描与若干扫描运算的组合,为扫描方法的组成与实现提供理论依据。4.研究规则扫描及其高性能策略。研究基于开关驱动的规则扫描及其性质,提出实现规则扫描的4种策略并给出相应算式与性能分析,其中植入递推运算是实现高灰度与高帧频的最佳扫描方案。5.研究扫描核与系统的电路实现。定义扫描核心模块的接口,设计了一系列扫描运算模块,可以简便地组合扫描核心模块并快速、可靠地构建扫描系统,并最终通过一个平板显示例子验证扫描系统的完整实现过程。

【Abstract】 The high resolution flat panel display technology has been one of the key scientific research fields in China. Gray scale is an important parameter to measure the display quality of flat panel display. Currently, pulse width modulation (PWM) is a common method to control gray scale of flat panel display.Apart from the research on display materials and devices, the increasing demand of new generation flat panel display with large size, super high resolution, quality and stability urges a systematic analysis and evaluation of various display scan methods—a theoretical research on scan imaging process and mechanism—to deduce new scan methods and hardware implementations appropriate for current flat panel display technology. Thus, the author has built up the mathematical scan model and its theory, upon which high grayscale and frame frequency scan schemes are investigated. The contributions and achievements of the work are as follows:1. Probe into the possibility and approach of constructing mathematical model for general logic circuits. A state combination tool based on set theory and a matrix-based tool are devised. These mathematical tools help analyze the circuit’s current state, timing change and other characteristics. They can also aid the circuit designs.2. A generic theoretical scan model and its theory have been established to describe any scan method. Based on the proposal of common circuit model principle, the author describes the state variables (e.g. gray scale, storage, driver) and their relations by the state combination tool, the image set and its imaging process by matrix-based tool, analyzes scan imaging effect, and brings forward performance parameters. They lay the foundation for the optimization and deduction of the scan methods.3. Research on the scan operations and characteristic scan. Based on the extension to array operation, the author investigates the relationship between different scan functions, proposes various scan operations and constructs scan extension diagrams. It is pointed out that any scan can be separated into a characteristic scan and a combination of some scan operations. This viewpoint serves as a theory basis for the form and implementation of the scan methods.4. Research on regular scan and its strategy for high performance. The switch-driven regular scan and its property are investigated and four regular scan schemes proposed. Their formulae and performance analyses are also presented. It is discovered that implantation recursive operation is the optimal scheme for high gray scale and frame frequency implementation.5. Research on logic circuit implementation of scan core module and its system organization. The author defines the scan core module interface and designs a serial of column scan operation circuits. They can be conveniently organized for a fast and reliable construction of a scan system. Finally, a complete implementation process of the scan system has been verified by a flat panel display example.
