【Abstract】 For rather a long period of time, "Mount Taishan, the Yellow River and Confucius" are considered as symbolistic things or brand of Shandong culture as well as Shandong Province’s tourist and cultural resources, for all the three contain rich cultural contents and enjoy high brand reputation. Therefore, while researching how to develop China’s traditional cultural industry, we’d better research them first. In the article, I analyze why and how Mount Taishan, the Yellow River and Confucius become the symbolic things in China, and their influences to Shandong’s tourism from the point of cultural resources exploitation and tourist industry development. The cultural position, status quo and problem of the three are also contained. In addition, some methods and suggestions are proposed on how to promote the development of the tourist industry in the three places. I just hope the article can offer some help to relevant academic research on one hand, and on the other hand, it can exert some promotion influence to Shandong’s cultural industry, especially its tourist industry.Besides Introduction and Conclusion, the article contains five parts: Chapter 1: Why "Mount Taishan", "the Yellow River" and "Confucius" can become the symbolistic things of Shandong’s tourist culture; Chapter 2: Forming, influence and limitation of Mount Taishan, the Yellow River and Confucius brand; Chapter 3: Mount Taishan Culture & Development of Taishan Cultural Industry; Chapter 4: The Yellow River Culture & Development of The Yellow River Cultural Industry; and Chapter 5: Confucius and Development of Qufu s Cultural Industry.High, sublime and scenic, Mount Taishan is one of the most famous mountains in China. Locating in east China, there stands not only natural scene but also human landscape. For its sublime, Mount Taishan usually gives people a concept of "world metaplasia", hugeness and safety. Locating in the cradle of the prehistorical cultures, it has enjoyed the worship of the Chinese people for thousands of years. And the development of Confucianism endowed it with more cultural contents. While, the long, big-drop and sandy Yellow River enjoyed both worship and fearness from the ancient Chinese, for it gave birth to the Chinese culture on one hand, but on the other hand, the floods brought by the collapsing of its dam are also disasters to the people living in the medium/down stream. Confucianism is the base of the Chinese culture. With the development of Chinese society, it gradually set up its position in China’s policy and culture and it even exerts its influence in the whole East Asia. Just the sublime position the three enjoy in the people makes them the symbolistic things in the Chinese culture. The reason why the mountain, river and saint became symbolistic things in China is that they have many features, in both nature and culture. All of them played a great role in development of the Chinese culture. In addition, it is greatly related to their internal relationship, which is clearly recorded in Chinese ancient books.
