维度本体及其应用

Dimensional Ontology and Its Application

【摘要】 随着语义网(Semantic Web)的不断发展,及其本体(Ontology)技术的不断完善,语义网和本体在知识管理、知识工程、信息抽取与检索等方面有广泛的应用。特别在知识管理方面,W3C制定的资源描述框架(RDF)和Web本体语言(OWL),特别适合解决生命科学、医疗卫生、地理信息系统、电子政务等各个领域等知识组织、知识检索、知识推理等问题。语义网和本体在各个领域的应用过程中,情境敏感知识管理问题越来越突出。一方面,语义网的各个领域普遍存在着情境敏感知识,无法忽视的和避免这个问题。笔者在多个课题项目研究中经常遇到这个问题。另一方面,语义网中现有技术对于情境敏感知识管理问题并不能很好的解决。因此,笔者在本文提出一个新的情境敏感知识管理解决方案:维度本体。维度本体的提出是语义网发展的内在要求,也是实际项目应用的客观需要。本文首先阐述了维度本体的定义,然后辨析了维度本体和其他相关概念之间的联系和区别,进而对维度本体的两个特征作了总结:(1)理论的科学性与严谨性;(2)应用的可行性与灵活性。针对这两个特征,本文进一步对维度本体的理论内涵和应用情况作了详细阐述。在理论方面,维度本体延用了RDF理论中,使用数理逻辑来建立RDF理论模型的方法。笔者通过数学形式化语言定义了维度本体中的抽象语义概念,并使用一系列命题、定理和推论来建立维度本体知识推理机制。笔者对这个定理系统中的所有定理和推论都进行了严格的数学证明,体现了维度本体的理论的严谨性。在应用方面,笔者首先介绍了自主开发的维度本体的应用支撑工具,用于解决维度本体在应用中基础的、通用的和共性的问题。这些工具能够保证维度本体快速而高效的应用于实际项目中,也提高了维度本体应用的可行性。最后,笔者介绍了在电子政务领域和生物医学领域两个项目课题研究中,如何应用了维度本体来解决情境敏感知识管理问题。本文的创新之处在于:提出了维度本体的理论框架和应用方案,丰富了本体理论的内涵,促进了本体应用的发展。维度本体的提出较好的解决了情境敏感知识管理问题;严格的数学逻辑保证了它的科学性,丰富的实际应用证明了它的可行性;它的提出既具有理论意义有包含实用价值。维度本体是笔者创新提出的一个新的解决方案,因此本文研究的难点在于:如何证明维度本体的这个新理论的科学性,以及如何将这个新理论应用于实际项目中以证明其可行性。本论文是多个项目课题的研究成果之一:●国家档案局科技项目“知识管理方法技术在数字档案馆建设中的应用研究”(2006-x-29)。●国家自然科学基金项目“基于数字图书馆的本体演化与知识管理研究”(70773087)。●中国人民武装警察部队医学院(天津)和武汉大学信息资源研究中心合作的天津市应用基础研究计划面上项目“矽尘暴露人群血清相关效应蛋白质及其变化的时间窗研究——矽肺动物模型生物活性介质调控网络研究”。(06YFJMJC09800)。

【Abstract】 With th’e development of Semantic Web and the improvement of Ontology technology, Semantic Web and Ontology have broad applications in such domains as knowledge management, knowledge engineering, information extraction and retrieval. Especially in knowledge management, Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) proposed by W3C, are very suitable to resolve the problems of knowledge organization, knowledge retrieval and knowledge reasoning in the domains of life science, health science, geographic information system, e-government and so on.During the application of Semantic Web and Ontology in different domains, the problem of context-sensitive knowledge management has been standing out more and more seriously. On the one hand, context-sensitive knowledge is widely spread in different domains of Semantic Web, which can be neither neglected nor avoided. On the other hand, current solutions in Semantic Web turn to be weak in resolving this problem. Therefore, the author proposes a brand new solution for the problem of context-sensitive knowledge management in this paper:Dimensional Ontology. The proposal of Dimensional Ontology is both the interior requirement of the development of Semantic Web and object request from the real world project applications.This paper firstly advances the definition of Dimensional Ontology, and then tells the relations and differences from other similar concepts. The two major features of Dimensional Ontology are summarized in this paper:(1) The scientificalness and the preciseness of its theory; (2) The feasibility and the flexibility of its application. According to the features, the paper further expatiates the theory and application of Dimensional Ontology in details. In the aspect of its theory, Dimensional Ontology follows the methodology of using Mathematical Logic to establish the theory model, which has been adopted by RDF. The author defines the abstract concepts and semantics of Dimensional Ontology using math formalisms, and establishes the mechanism of knowledge reasoning of Dimensional Ontology through a series of propositions, theorems and corollaries, which have been proofed already with rigid math methodology. It testifies the preciseness of the theory of Dimensional Ontology. In the aspect of application, the paper firstly introduces the application supporting tools developed by the author, which are used to resolve the basic, common and shared problems of using Dimensional Ontology in real world. They guarantee the great efficiency and effectiveness and raise the feasibility of the application of Dimensional Ontology. Last but not least, the paper introduces two projects in e-government domain and in biology medicine domain. They demonstrate how to put Dimensional Ontology in real world projects to resolve the problem of context-sensitive knowledge management.The innovative findings in this paper include:This paper proposes the theory framework and the application solution of Dimensional Ontology, which enriches the theory of ontology and promotes the development of ontology application. Dimensional Ontology resolves the problem of context sensitive knowledge management; the rigid Mathematical Logic proofs its scientificalness, while its abundant applications testify its feasibility. It has both theoretical meanings and realistic values.Dimensional Ontology is a brand new solution.
