【Abstract】 When Su Shi was exiled to Danzhou,he once said that it was a customary practice of the Su family for one to be buried in the very place where one passes away,but before his death,Su Shi instructed his younger brother Su Zhe to bury him on Mount Song and he was thus buried there in the end. When he died of illness in Changzhou,Su Shi was buried on Mount Song rather than in his hometown Meishan together with his parents. Su Zhe illustrated it as“the inability to follow”,which means that the then circumstances did not allow them to bury Su Shi in his home. The crux lies in the fact that Su Shi considered himself unaccomplished in fame and still guilty due to the“Wutai Poetry Incident”,so he was afraid of insulting ancestors if buried in his hometown.更多还原
