【Abstract】 Through a discussion of implications, relations and functions of several myths in A Dream in Red Mansions, this paper argues that they are a related and unified whole, actually one myth. This myth is closely related to the primary event of the novel, embodies the image of Jia Baoyu and represents the general design and structural line of the story.
