【Abstract】 LIU Xun-yu is a famous mathematician, mathematics educator, publisher and writer in the 20th century of China. He majors in mathematics and has expertise in teaching, writing and research, so he is an outstanding example of textbook editors.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he was transferred to the People’s Education Publishing House as deputy editor-in-chief, rtaking charge of mathematics textbooks compilation and science textbooks censor. Based on his Kaiming edition of mathematics textbooks, he compiled the first set of mathematics textbooks for middle schools in People’s Republic of China.He guided the revision and approval of the first set of mathematics textbooks for primary schools, edited many kinds of mathematics textbooks and teaching reference books for primary and middle schools, and left valuable textbook compiling experience for future generations.
