【Abstract】 The Ma-Chu regime was one of the regimes that showed great respect for Central China in the time of Wu-dai-shi-guo after Tang Dynasty. After its attacks upon Fujian, the country of Southern Tang launched a war against Chu when there was an instability inside the country. But it ended up in failure and Southern Tang withdrew its troops from Hunan not long after that. The causes of the failure lie in the following: the use of improper time and persons to attack Chu, the improper policy used to conquer Chu with Ma as its emperor, the disequilibria of the diplomatic relations with Southern Han which brought face-to-face military confrontations and the strategies of using non-main force to attack the opponents.更多还原
