Effect of angiotensin I or nitric oxide on the growth and apoptosis of endothelium cells and vascular smooth muscle cells
结果 NO诱导VSMC凋亡而AngⅡ抑制VSMC凋亡,NO拮抗AngⅡ对VEC凋亡的诱导作用。
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effects of vasoactive substances, such as angiotensin II and nitric oxide (NO) ,on the growth and apoptosis of vascular smooth muscle cells and endothelium cells. Methods To observe the cells growth and apoptosis conditions, we uesd the NO and angiotensin II substances in cultured VEC and VSMC. Results The results showed that NO induced apoptosis and angiotensin I inhibited apoptosis in vascular smooth muscle cells. Whereas NOdirectly antagonized angiotensin I which induced apoptosis. Conclusion These findings suggested that the growth and apoptosis of vascular smooth muscle cells or endothelium cells were regulated by the antagonistic balance between vasoactive substances such as NO and angiotensin II . The countervailing balance between NO and angiotensin H may determing the overall cell population within the vessel wall by regulating genetic programs deteming cell death as well as cell growth.
