心理数字线空间方向及SNARC效应实验研究

【摘要】 数字加工机制及其空间表征方式是认知心理学研究领域的热点。心理数字线和空间-数字的反应编码联合效应,即SNARC效应,为数字的空间表征方式提供了关键性的解释和证明,但其产生机制的细节和边缘条件仍需要进一步实验考察。本研究三个实验均为眼动实验,采用Fischer的眼动研究范式并有所创新,对一位阿拉伯数字进行奇偶性判断,排除操作联结和运动因素,明确经验和习惯因素对SNARC效应带来的影响,尝试在更多空间方向上观察该效应,深入考察空间偏向产生的原因,探讨心理数字线和SNARC效应的内在机制。本研究得到的主要结论:(1)在水平方向上观察到SNARC效应的出现。即对于小数,向左眼动反应较快;对于大数,向右眼动反应较快,表明小数表征在水平方向心理数字线的左侧,大数表征在水平方向心理数字线的右侧。(2)在垂直方向上观察到SNARC效应的出现。即对于小数,向下眼动反应较快;对于大数,向上眼动反应较快,表明小数表征在垂直方向心理数字线的下方,大数表征在垂直方向心理数字线的上方。(3)在数字做顺时针旋转、与水平线夹角45°的倾斜方向上未观察到SNARC效应的出现。

【Abstract】 The mechanism of number processing and it’s spatial representation mode are hot topics in the field of cognitive psychology. The mental number line and Spatial Numerical Association of Response Codes effect, also known as SNARC effect, provide critical interpretations and proofs for the way numbers are spatially represented. However, details and defining conditions of how they exist still need further experimental research.Three experiments of timed odd-even judgment on one-digit Arabic numbers were carried out by adopting the improved Fischer et al’s experimental paradigm. We were trying to exclude factors of manual and motor association, to investigate the influence caused by experiences and habits, and to observe SNARC effect on more spatial directions, in order to discuss causes of the spatial bias as well as the interior mechanism of mental number line and SNARC effect.The main conclusions of the study as listed below:(1)SNARC effect was observed, which means saccade responses were initiated faster to the left in response to small digits and faster to the right in response to large digits. It showed that large digits were associated with the left side of space and small digits with the right side of space.(2) SNARC effect was observed, which means saccade responses were initiated faster to the lower space in response to small digits and faster to the upper space in response to large digits. It showed that large digits were associated with the upper space and small digits with the lower side of space.(3)SNARC effect was not observed when stimulus pictures were rotated clockwise for45°.
